Hello and welcome. It can be frustrating and hurtful when we turn to our friends and family looking for support only for them to tell you what you should be doing, why it is your fault, or how it is no big deal, when all we want is someone to listen. Only you are an expert in your life and I am here to listen to your story and walk with you in your journey to wellness and self-improvement. Whatever the reasons are that you are seeking therapy, they are unique to you and we will work together to create a plan that is best for you. I believe that a good therapist and client relationship is the key to successful work together which is why I strive to create a relationship built on trust, understanding, empathy, and safety.
Our past experiences help shape who we are today. We will work together to identify and make connections between past experiences and current behaviors and identify ways to help create new and healthier experiences in the future. Aside from individuals adults, I work with adolescents, families, and couples in all stages. I am a Prepare and Enrich facilitator and Gottman level 1 certified for couples work. I have experience working with adolescents and adults who are exploring sexuality, going through life transitions, suffering from trauma, suffering from depression and anxiety, and many other issues that can distress in our lives. I have experience in the nursing field, military and veterans, and multicultural relationships. I believe in the importance of physical, mental, and spiritual health.
I served for 10 years in the United States Army as a licensed vocational nurse and as a combat medic. During my time in the military, I had the privilege of working with multiple cultures from not only the United States, but around the world. After the military, I earned a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from California State University, Dominguez Hills. I went on to earn a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University. My clinical interests include sexuality, military/veterans, men’s issues, addictions, and attachment.
